WIP Wednesday: Disappearing Desire

I've skipped a couple of WIP Wednesdays and I almost skipped today, too! I knew this malaise would be coming on, but I thought I would make it through June before it really hit.

I tend to poop out of craft energy at some point during the year and that time is upon me. Since I am running a UFO challenge (see button at the top!) for June, I'm trying to hold out and finish up a few projects before I take a little sewing siesta.

So far I've managed to sandwich this quilt that has been a UFO for just over a year now. I'm only quilting in the tan blocks and so far I've got 2 rows out of 6 done.

I finally finished the top on the quilt for my husband. I was ambitiously thinking of having this completely done by Sunday, for Father's day. But I'm not really feeling like that is going to happen...

I'm about half way through on sewing up my double hourglass blocks for My Precious quilt. I really want this finished by August as that is when my sister is moving and it would be nice for her to take along to her new place.

I've been good about working on my swirly stars, more than half are sewn completely, while the rest are paired up and just need to be joined up.

And, I even managed a few more Sophie flower blocks, though not as many as I would have liked to have completed.

And finally, this little zakka pencil case I had started a couple of weeks ago. It should have been done long ago, but I did something wrong and have to undo the whole mushroom piece from the linen to fix, so that's been on the back burner, too.

I really wish I didn't feel so blah about sewing right now, as there are sooo many things I want to make! I got my first Mystery Block of the month in the mail today, Cut to Pieces is starting a Super Mario quilt quilt-a-long, there's purse palooza and dresden block something or other, not to mention all the zakka stuff, bags, totes, zippy things and on and on and on! Linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

  1. You have so much going on...no wonder your blah! You're brain must be spinning and spinning into exhaustion. I love love the quilt pictures at the top. Just did a "similar" design and it was a lot of fun. Rest, dear. You certainly deserve a break...

  2. Gosh! You have been busy! Good job on finally sandwiching that quilt! Isn't it a great feeling to pick up something that has been sitting for so long!? Can't wait to see the finished project!

  3. Yes I felt the desire wane when I read your long list of UFOs...none of those projects are easy either (well the pencil case will be once you unpick that bit)...maybe I can offer you a fabric incentive of my own to get you going again. I will post you a fat quarter of mystery fabric, for each one of those projects you finish THIS month. So that could be UP to SIX FQs to throw into your stash. Motivation enough?

  4. Hey Simone,
You need to change your tab up the top - the 'Quilts 2011' goes to the home screen and it looks like there is no way to get home from other pages (cos it says quilts 2011...) I got sent to your UFO page first and couldn't get to the main blog without changing the URL... Just letting u know!
