W.I.P. Wednesday Revealing my Shame Edition

Ok, may shame is too strong of a word. But this is the Wednesday that I reveal all of my WIP/UFOs, not just the ones that currently interest me. I'm doing this in the hopes that some of you out there will also reveal your UFOs and decide to join in my challenge for June!

So right now, all of these have no progress. I haven't sewn all week. Since it really got warm over the past weekend, it's kind of sapped my desire to sew...

Here's a quilt I started working on pre-Christmas 2011. I was all gung ho for Christmas quilts months and months ago, now, not so much. I'm not sure how many blocks I have made, I just know it still has a ways to go.
Next was my foray into apron making. This one is a half apron that still needs to have the waistband attached.
I forget the pattern name of this quilt, but it is one I started spring of 2011 I believe. Alternating rows of brown and tan blocks with different fabrics at the centers.
My Swirl Stars quilt from long, long ago.
Apple of my Eye quilt
Sophie quilt from vintage sheets
My Precious double hourglass quilt
And a few tops that are awaiting backing inspiration.
Happy Mochi Yum Yum Zig Zag quilt
Central Park quilt
and Delighted baby quilt.
I think I've included everything that is currently unfinished. It's possible that I may have forgotten something, somewhere.
My reason for showing all of these is to introduce a month long challenge for June to try and finish up as many of these as possible. Capture small I'll be having a few prizes for participants and hopefully we'll all be inspired to get some of your UFOs out of the way before Summer (in the US) gets fully into swing!
Details and the link up should be up tomorrow.

Sunday Stash Just a Wee One

I have been so, so good with not ordering any fabrics on the internet this last week or so. Unfortunately, that means not a lot to show for my Sunday Stash!
I did pick up a few pieces at Joann's during the 1/2 off clearance fabrics the other day.
The 3 prints on the left are Fabric Central I believe. I was very drawn to the bright colors, and since I picked up several patterns for bags and things, I thought they might work for that. The other 2 prints were from the remnant bin. Of course the dots had to come home with me. I love dots!
And, some little birdies from Heidi Grace. I think these looked very Kawaii for a chain shop. Also, another Fabric Central print. I already had some of this, but got 1 more yard since it was now clearance and may disappear.
And here's a some pattern stash. I love when they have the $1 pattern sales. I buy a few that I hope to try, and if I don't use them, I'm not out too much money.
Hopefully I'll get to try these out over the summer months.

Thrift Store Finds

Only a few finds to show today. I vacillate between staying away from the shops for fear of adding more to my stash, with the sure knowledge that if I don't go, I'll miss out on some spectacular find. I went to 2 stores yesterday and was strong enough to put some things back on the racks that had somehow gotten into my cart. I did however come away with these little items.
My Ebay research informs me that they are Danish silk screen cocktail napkins. Perhaps from the 40s or 50s. I really have no clue, but they looked interesting and were a very nice price.
I finally took home this partial set of books. I had been eying them for months, but with all the info available on the internet, I was reluctant to add these large, heavy books. They were half off, and there really are some lovely quilts to look at, so I finally brought them home with me.
Here are a few of the quilts from the books.
Does this one remind anyone of a current quilt trend??
And a few patterns, which if complete, shall be going into the shop.
See, not too bad at all. I was able to restrain myself. Of course, that could be because I'm waiting for the really big sale on Monday...;)

No Cure for the Summertime Blues

Well, in between trying to scan my entire sheet collection for updated shop listings, get my UFOs rounded up for my upcoming challenge, laundry, and just wanting to sit and vegetate, I finally managed to finish this quilt!
It probably would have been done a couple of days ago, except I decided I wanted my binding thread to match the binding and wanted to wait for the Memorial Day sale at Joann's before I went and purchased the thread.
No worries, it is down now, and I really like it. I'll be putting it into my Etsy shop, so hopefully it will find a nice home.
It finishes out at 55" x 60", a nice lap or throw size. Something to put on the lawn during outdoor Summer concerts, perhaps?
The backing is made up of 12" squares of several of the fabrics that are on the front. It's been quilted with some straight lines outside some of the seams, but not all of them.
In other news, if you're into vintage sheets as fabric, I've added a couple of bundle deals to the shop. Pick 5 or pick 10 for the special price of only $1 per fat quarter.
I'm currently in the process of updating my pictures with scanned swatches to better show the color. I'm also adding many prints that I've had around, but have escaped being listed.
I'm also open to trading fabrics, so drop me a line if you want to perhaps swap some stash!

WIP Wednesday

The squares Denyse Schmidt squares I showed in my last WIP post have become this quilt top, which I am calling Summertime Blues. I did add a few spots of tomato red to the mix to break up all the blues and a few Dear Stella stripes in shades of blue and grey. I've been working on a pieced backing for this quilt and should have it all sandwiched up in the next day or two.

I also managed to finish 6 more of my Sophie blocks from the vintage sheet fat quarters. Well, not completely finish, I have to put the applique circles in the middle, but that will be my final step once all 30 blocks are all sewn up.

I did start work on a Zakka pencil case, but I did not take a picture of it. Other than that, I haven't worked on any of my previously mention WIP projects. I'm off until Tuesday, so hopefully I'll get a bunch of things completed. If all goes well, I hope to be announcing a little challenge next Wednesday, so stay tuned!

Sunday Stash - Now with 100% more Moon Rabbits!

I skipped posting a Sunday Stash last week so this week will have double the stash goodness.
Fiona at Finding Fifth has created a new button for Sunday Stashing and link up, so go grab the button and show off your stash!

From one of my favorite Etsy Shops, Blije Olifantje I found these Moon Rabbits in navy. There are 3 other colors I think, but I like the navy best.
And from the same shop, here are a few prints that I thought might work well with all of my upcoming Zakka sewing.

With all of the fun animal prints floating about I've thought of collecting a few to make a fun animal quilt. To that end, I've picked up some Ed Emberly prints, and this Monaluna sheep print from SimplifiFabric on Etsy.

My hopes are to somehow work these Michael Miller Tammis Keefe prints in with the animal prints, though the Keefe prints are much larger.

A few pieces that have been out for awhile, but have just recently made their way into my stash.
These all came from Del Ray Fabrics. There was supposed to be a piece of Birdie Spokes, but that got left out in the shipping. :(
Half Moon Modern and Vintage Clocks in aqua.
Painters Canvas in several colors.
Layer Cake of Salt Air.
And on the local front, from my Joann's Fabrics store
Some more dots! I love dots, can't resist. I wish they had these in more colors.
My Daughter is a Star Wars fan (as am I), and thought she would like to have something made out of these prints.
And, with coupons and the remnant section, my little collection of linen and linen-like is growing.
And the last item. My daughter gave me this for Mother's Day!

WIP Wednesday

For this Wednesday, I've a couple of new projects to add to my ongoing projects.
I've cut 240 of the 360 3.5" squares from my mostly blue Denyse Schmidt prints. I'm making a simple patchwork squares quilt with these. I may decide to add some grey prints in, haven't decided yet.
I also came to a decision on what to do with some of the prints that I won from Junette. I've picked the Sophie pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew. I thought it would be a great block to showcase the prints. Here's some of my squares cut up, and my first block.
And, I've made some progress on my My Precious quilt blocks. I have about half of the blocks cut into their triangle pieces and have 15 or so sewn into blocks. Here are a few of the blocks I've completed.
Not much progress on my previous WIPs, so no pictures for those.
