I have more fabric in my stash and it's all the fault of jury duty!
On Thursday I had to report for jury duty a few towns away from where I live. Our lunch break was 1.5hrs long. Way too much time for me, especially since I don't even take a break when working on my regular work days. Rather than spend the whole time sitting and reading my kindle, which was making me sleepy before break; I decided to explore a bit.
What I found was a little quilt shop down a side street. I really don't enjoy going into LQS because they're usually smallish, so while browsing it feels like the folks are right in your space. Another reason is they seem so much more expensive than online shops. Lastly, I feel wrong if I leave empty handed. Like, guilty wrong.
But, I wanted to see what they had, there could be some totally awesome find that I haven't seen online, so in I went. Lots of batiks, and 30s prints, Meet the Gang and blenders, but nothing that knocked my socks off. Still, I came away with 7 fat quarters, exorbitantly(or so it seems) priced at $3.29 each. They were already cut, so at least picking them was easy.
Here they are below in the fan, below them are two prints I received in a Swap-bot swap.
I don't know what they are, but I like them!
I'll be back tomorrow with my regular Sunday Stash showings.
I like the fat quarters you picked out but $3.29 is an amazing price from my perspective. In Austrlaia fat Quarters start from somewhere over A$5 and do remember that the Aussie $ is doing well against the greenback! Needless to say I often go to quilt shops and come out empty handed. I have often wondered what it would be like to do Jury Duty....depends on the case I suppose.
