Karen's Challenge #3 - Fancy Folds

Today I have made an Easter card to participate in the Karen's Doodle Challenge. The challenge requires the creation of a card that is not just your typical square/rectangle card, hence the "Fancy Fold". This is my first attempt at an easel fold card, it was fun. What I really enjoyed was weaving the ribbons to decorate the front of the basket.

I chose Easter because she has some really sweet freebies to try out and I have used one of them in my card. I don't really have a use for Easter cards, but when the images are so cute, it's hard to resist!

Mousy Goodness

Today I have my entry for the Lili of the Valley sketch challenge #49.

I endeavored to use some of the fun things I buy for crafting, and then don't use because they are too precious to me. So I busted out some stickles and brads and diamond glaze in an attempt to accessorize the image I chose. I hope it worked.

Creative Inspirations Challenge #53 a Sketch.

I made this card to participate in the the Creative Inspirations Challenge #53, which happens to be a sketch. I really like having a sketch to follow because left to my own devices I will dither and dally and then give up!
I've been feeling that brown is underappreciated this time of year, yet the brown earth is essential to all the pretty spring blooms. Plus, I really like the combo of browns with greens, teals and pinks.

Cheeky Radish Rabbits!

The Moosetrack Monday challenge over at Paper Popsicles is to make something with an Easter theme using their free digital stamp. I'm sure I had glorious visions of a beautiful card with copius amounts of pastels and ribbons attached. That's not quite how it turned out. I actually colored this image 5 times trying to come up with a color combo that appealed to me. I finally had enough and went with my final rendering. I didn't feel there was room enough for ribbons so I left those off. I was trying for one of those old timey eggs that had a scene inside of them, not quite sure if I hit the mark there either! Perhaps Easter's not for me...

It's not easy being green!

Today I have a card made with a shades of green theme. I've made this to enter into a few challenge blogs with "Go Green" themes. Since I don't really celebrate St. Patty's day, I purposely did not want to use any of the traditional associations with that holiday. Instead I'm using a cute digi called Audrey in the rain from The Stamping Boutique.

Right Now...

I seem to have caught the digital stamping bug. The past two years I have been trying my hand at making my own Christmas cards and the occasional birthday card. I started out making very basic cards out of pretty patterned papers, with little to no adornment.





Last year I got a little more elaborate, I started using rubber stamps and trying
to incorporate more embellishments.
















Now I know a bit more about coloring and am now getting into digital stamps. Trying
to work on my technique some more, we'll see how it goes...
